To all the Valued Fellow Customers of Belfair Water District #1,

The monthly water base & water overage rates for the District have remained the same since 2015.

The Board of Commissioners have done their best to not raise these rates for the last 10 years. As you all know, inflation has climbed over that time frame and the cost of everything has gone up exponentially.  This led to the District performing a rate study in 2023 and early 2024. Rate increases were recommended to keep the District in pace with the rising costs. 

Resolution 2024-04 increased the fees associated with development to the recommended rates, but the Board chose not to raise the base rates mid-year, and the next four years at the higher rate structure recommended.

Instead, the Commissioners decided to look at the rates annually at the end of the year and assess based on the current CPI inflationary percentage. As a result, the base rates for 2025 and all other rates have been raised 3.8% based on an unadjusted CPI percentage rate. 

The staff, along with the Commissioners will continue to do annual reviews of these percentage rates and the Board of Commissioners will decide whether the rates will be raised each year.
